Margaret has painted some of her country named Winiyin and found east of Balgo. This painting depicts the Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) story for Margaret’s grandfather’s country. This story tells of two snakes, a king brown and a carpet snake, that travelled between the saokwaters depicted as the centrel circles. These are named from top to bottom Miranu, Winiyin and Jalari. During this journey the carpet snake got tired and had to be carried on the back of the king brown. The journey ended at a cave named Jarluwangu.
