Genevieve has painted her grandmother’s country, Kunawarritji. This painted depicts people sitting down near waterholes after hunting mangarri (food). The radiating lines indicate the sandhills, creeks, soakwaters and brown hills.
“They go hunting there, and have picnic there. They eat bush turkey, and kangaroo, and black head too. Snake. There is a lot of soakwater on the Canning Stock Route, people go hunting there, or have picnics or camp there. My grandfathers country.”
