Nyila is Tossie’s father’s country near the Canning Stock Route in the middle of the Great Sandy Desert. The large U shape represents the luurnpa (kingfisher) which is part of the Tjukurrpa (dreaming) of the country. The other U shapes represent people hunting around the swamps. The radiating lines illustrate the tali (sanddunes) which dominate the country.
