Size/Medium : 1800 x 1100mm: acrylic on linen Painting
This painting depicts the objects and story associated with Jimmy’s Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) which is yarla (bush potato/yam). This story is set in Jimmy’s traditional country of Tjukukalyu, east of Balgo in the Tanami Desert. The painting shows the country after the dry season fires, including the sacred sites (circles) Yawurlawurla, Manytjurrangu and Tjukakarrinyu, the curving lines indicated the travelling yam vines underground. The yams travel west all the way to Paruku (Lake Gregory) a site close to Balgo.
