Tammy tells her grandmother’s story from an area south of Kiwirrkurra region. Amongst the numerous foods that are collected from the local country, there is a prized white seed. When this seed is ground it is pound into a type of dough. It is then flattened, cooked in a ground oven for a short time – usually about half an hour. When cooked, it resembles the western style pancake: it is sweet, soft and eaten plain. This flattened delicacy is patterned throughout Tammy’s colourful painting
