Jane has painted her mother’s traditional country, and the place in which she grew up – Kunawarritji, or Well 33 on the the Canning Stock Route. The circle represents the Kinyu rockhole (ancient spirit dog), this is part of her mother’s tjukurrpa (dreaming). A long time ago kinyu was the first one to walk the land, as he traveled he created the mangarri (bushfood) and tali (sandhills). Jane is the daughter of the late Warlayirti Artist, Eubena Nampitjin.
